Mind Boggling...

Is it just me, or is it that I have forgotten old school mathematics. Hell.. This question here is driving me nuts. I saw this question sometime back at a frendz place, but didnt seem to get it then.. but now when i found it, I donno what to say..

Please anyone who can find the answer to this... plz answer it
The question that drives us crazy is :

How come the areas are not equal ??

answer already thr
in the 1st triangle if u notice the altitude of the red triangle its 3 squares
but if u follow the vertical line depicting its altitude all the way down 2 the 2nd triangle its a bit more than 3 squares....

so i guess the angle of elevation of the vertical for the 2 triangles is diff....that i guess brings in this hole in the 2nd triangle...

this is wat i can think of rite now...i'll reply bak again if i get a better solution...

that is true.. dont u see that tan 3/8 is not same as tan 2/5, ie the slope of both the triangle's hypotenuse is not same...
